Instrumentation and Electrical Supply and Installation Works of Tuz Golu Gas Storage Expansion
The employer has planned to construct additional underground gas storage (UGS) to enlarge the Tuz Golu UGS in a salt cavern field in the Tuz Golu area, about 200 km south of Ankara. The Design and Construction of the subsurface facilities are divided into Phase 3 for 12 caverns that have to be ready for gas operation and Phase 4 for 28 caverns that have to be prepared for gas operation. After completing the project, Turkey’s gas supply security will be ensured.
In 2020, GIZIL was awarded for electrical and instrumentation supply and installation works, including erection, mounting, terminal connections, testing, and startup of all equipment supplied by the Contractor (transformers, MV switchgear, motor drivers, UPS, diesel generators, capacitor banks, etc.). The scope covered weak current systems, process instruments and instrument cables, mounting materials like tubing, supports, glands, heat tracing equipment, electrical cabling, and termination works of Motorized Valves, SCADA, DCS, and RTU hardware equipment.
